The Woodlands

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! Before booking this venue the owner Ray (Jeckel & Hyde) WAS a very nice guy. After getting our final deposit Dr. Jeckel truly came out. He was VERY rude to us. He said we could rehearse for our wedding the day before, only to be told 30 mins after arriving to rehearsal that we had to go!!. I was told that I the bride and some of my bridesmaids could get ready for the ceremony in the lounge they have. During that time he BUSTED in the the woman's restroom and told us what we could and could not do. He was VERY RUDE to ALL of my vendors. They all felt uncomfortable because of the RACIAL COMMENTS that were made and they wanted to leave. He unplugged one of my DJ's speakers and said the music was too loud. He made nasty and rude comments to more than half of my guest and some of them left early. In addition to all of that he tried to retain my security deposit for one overflowing trash can; mind you there were three receptions going on at the same time. There is lack of communication between him and some of the staff. The staff that served us that night were super nice but as for Ray and his assistant Dave they were rude, wishy washy and racist.

The Woodlands is a great value for the dollar. I had a fantastic time at my Reception. The DJ played all of my music and the one we had even taught us some line dances. The owner, Ray can sean abrasive at times but if you treat hime with respect and ask what can be done in the hall he will more then try to accomidate you if possible. The hall is in fantastic shape and after seeing how Ray is with protecting the hall I now know why. I especially liked the fact that they didn't stick me with an automatic gratuity or service charge like some halls.

The Woodlands is a great venue. They have great service and food, and the staff is very helpful. The owner however is extremely unfriendly and rude. He met with us a number of times and was never there to answer the door, had multiple things going on at once, and seemed to have lost track of a few things. He always seems like he never wants to help you out. Also, the DJ that comes with the reception hall was TERRIBLE. We submitted a "playlist" and a "DO NOT PLAY list" via his website, and he played about 10 songs from our "DO NOT PLAY list" We were extremely disappointed with the night.

We had our wedding reception at the Woodlands - South Hall. It was amazing! I would definitely recommend it to friends. Friendly, helpful staff (including your own personal assistant the day of). I didn't pick out the menu. My parents did. I'm a vegetarian and they only had salad and mashed potatos for me to eat. When I told the assistant she had the cooks make some greenbeans without ham and steamed veggies. I didn't even have to ask for that. They went above and beyond what I ever thought possible.

This hall is nice and big for big wedding receptions. It was a great value at $17.95 a person however one week before my big day The owner RAY refused to give us our wine with the package and we didn't get the right menu because he admitted he checked the wrong package on the contract signed a year earlier. However he argued with me that the top half of the contract was binding which is printed but the bottom half was not which is where he wrote in the wrong thing. I was horrified that instead of fixing it he demaded I deal with it or find another venue- one week before my wedding! I just sucked it up and kept it there. Other than that issue and on my wedding day I tried to get in to put out my flower petals on the table. ray keeps the front doors locked and refused to let me in for 15 minutes bc he was with a prospective client! I was on a very tight time frame and he made me run late on my day. If i were that prospective client I definately would not book this location unless you dont care about service. If you only care about the good value for money they you will be a happy bride.

This venue was beautiful. The personality of the owner and staff are less to be desired.

I loved the Woodlands! The hall was beautiful the food was delicious and the staff dress for the occassion. I wouldn't dream of having my reception anywhere else.

Pretty, clean, good sized reception hall, great location, easy to find. A little slow to return phone calls, but overall, pretty good service. Food was good, servers were very friendly and helpful. Table decorations were cheap and they set them up for you... made things much easier. Everything went very well for us there.
